Senior Engineer Piping DRE

Job description

• Define, budget, schedule, execute and co-ordinate all activities within own areas of responsibility and lead a team of piping engineers
• Be interface responsible for discipline, i.e. response to and questioning external parties
• Give status reporting of the design within area of responsibility
• Ensure that all deliverables are completed on time, in accordance with the project schedule
• Ensure that the job is done to the specified quality
• Responsible for performing IDC within own discipline
• Give input to overall basis for design
• Prioritize for own group in execution
• Prepare, check and discipline-approve work packages
• Prepare, check and approve MTO for prefab and installation
• Prepare, check and approve technical requisitions
• To follow up on suppliers
• Insert data to engineering registry
• Give input to plan responsible for progress reporting for own team (Responsible for engineering activities)
• Prepare supporting documents to MC / Commissioning
• Participate in site surveys (on-/ offshore)

Qualifications

• Masters or bachelor degree
• Minimum 8 years’ experience with piping in Pre-Engineering, Detail Engineering, Prefab and Installation Follow-on and  As-Built phase in Norway. Both from greenfield and brownfield projects
• Know and understand the principles of piping arrangement and supporting
• Have process-specific knowledge, and be able to read P&ID
• Have knowledge to max span and flexibility evaluation
• Have understanding of material technology
• Be capable in defining demands for material handling
• Be able to use 3D review tools in own discipline work
• Have good knowledge about Aibel specific tools for discipline in execution of work, and have acceptable skills in using tools to carry-out work as expected by position
• Have good knowledge to the other main subject areas within piping (PDMS design/draft, support, stress, layout)
• Have good knowledge to laws, standards and norms applicable for the discipline
• Be familiar with PDMS software
• In depth knowledge of relevant pipe specs and ASME codes
• Have some knowledge of mechanical- / process equipment
• Have good knowledge to laws, standards and norms applicable for the discipline
• Be familiar with and understanding of subjects as fatigue, vibration and damping
• Be familiar with and understanding of insulation of piping, including passive fire protection and acoustic insulation
• Be familiar with PED - regulations
• Have knowledge of EIS and Statoil STIDStatoil experience is preferable
