Principal Mechanical Engineer

Job description

  • Discipline Lead / Discipline Responsible for major projects
  • Discipline Lead is responsible for discipline(s) engineering activities and to ensure that they are carried out in accordance with pertinent specifications, statutory and other contractual requirements, with due regard to safety, operability, maintainability and constructability aspects The Discipline Lead shall ensure that the work within the discipline(s) is carried out according to plan and that progress is reported. The Discipline Lead shall ensure that potential changes/deviations are identified and logged in accordance with project change control system
  • Handle several ongoing projects across locations
  • Ensure HSE activities within area of responsibility are carried out
  • Prepare and maintain a positive working environment for the members within the discipline
  • General mechanical work tasks
  • Define and request required resources within discipline group
  • Report technical status and progress for discipline scope of work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Masters degree
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience
  • Experience with major modifications on live platforms
  • FEED experience
  • Experience with various mechanical studies
  • Discipline Responsible or Discipline Lead for major Projects
  • Have good communication skills in Norwegian and English. Both orally and in writing
  • Have a cooperative working attitude
  • Be systematic and accurate
  • Have a high loyalty to deadline and quality requirements
  • Have the ability to see multiple design – cases (solution oriented)
  • Contribute to on the job training for oneself and others. Seek relevant information from others in order to complete own tasks
